Genesis
Genesis is the part of ARound that decides what deserves attention. It looks at what has changed in the business, works out what the change means, and gives the resulting work to the Specialist whose job it fits. Owners set what Genesis and the Specialists may do on their own and what always comes back for a decision.
What it does day to day
Something changes — a goal falls behind, a customer has been waiting, a quiet week shows up in the numbers. Genesis notices, reads the relevant business information, decides what the change means, and assigns the work. What it may not do is exceed the authority the owner set: anything outside that waits for the owner or an authorised teammate.
Why the work is assigned rather than configured
The alternative is a rules engine, where somebody has to anticipate every situation in advance and write the rule for it. Small businesses do not have anyone to do that. Assigning work means the judgement about what matters this week happens each week, against what is actually true, rather than being frozen into a setting when the account was created.
